The crowds came in hundreds through the gates of Exeter Food Festival , on a warm and sunny May Bank Holiday Saturday. I had a brilliant lunch time, demonstrating Gluten Free Granola in Darts Farm Tepee at Exeter Food Festival. Vicki from The Free From Fairy accompanied me, demonstrating baking Muffins with her Gluten Free Flour. Unfortunately all the Muffins were eaten by the audience, as soon as they cam out of the oven, they smelt and looked delicious, with Blueberries and Midfields Granola Gluten Free sprinkled on top of each one.
While I was waiting to start the demonstration, Michael Caines MBE and Chef/Patron of Lympstone Manor came over to see me, he served our Wheat Free Granola for many years at Gidliegh Park Hotel and now wants it in his new luxury Hotel, Lympstone Manor, next to the river Exe. This was a lovely way to start my demo in the Darts Farm Tepee, which every year has a great atmosphere and following from visitors.
I started the demo by giving a short history of Midfields Granola and continued to explain where it is now, fifteen years on. How times have changed and how our choice of healthy eating has changed! The audience were really interested to know we only used a little Honey to sweeten our Granola and no refined sugars.
